You must present your Canadian passport and a return ticket confirmation to the immigration officer upon your arrival at the Bangkok International Airport. Please make sure that your passport is valid for at least 6 months and that the departuture date as appears on your return ticket is no longer than 1 months from the date of arrival. |

| What is the longest time I can stay in Thailand? And what kind of visa do I need? | |||||||
The tourist visa allows you to stay in Thaiand for 60 days for each entry. If you want to stay in Thailand longer than the authorized 60 days without leaving the country, you can apply for an extension at an immigration office in Thailand. A visa extension typically allows you to stay 10 to 30 days longer; however, the length of your extended stay ultimately rests with the decision of the immigration office in Thailand. You can also apply for a double entry or triple entry tourist visa at our Consulate. A double entry visa allows you to stay in Thailand for a total of 4 months; however, each entry permits you to stay in Thailand for 2 months. This means that you must leave Thailand every 2 months. Your return to to the country (which can be on the same day as when you leave the country) will subsequently activate your next entry. A triple entry visa allows you to stay in Thailand for a total of 6 months or 2 months per entry. You must activate your visa entry every 2 months by leaving and returning into Thailand (same as double entry visa). For double entry and triple entry visas you have to use the last entry of your visa within six months from the date of issue. For example, if your double/triple entry visa was issued on 1 January 2004, you must use all entries of your visa by 30 June 2004. |
